As a part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, the Department of Botany initiated a project namely ‘Haritha punarjani’ in collaboration with Kerala forest department, Kottackal Arya vaidyasala, Kerala Forest Research Institute Peechi, Govt. Ayurveda College Thiruvananthapuram, National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow, Pathanamthitta Municipality and Chris global foundation Thiruvalla. It aims to plant rare trees and fruit trees in ring roadside. The project will help promote the students and public to understand about the rare and exotic plants. Sri. Vinod Kumar, Co-ordinator of Suchithwa Kerala Mission inaugurated the project by planting a “Puthrajiva” tree sapling on 05/06/2021 in the ring road side. Adv.Zakhir Hussain,Muncipal Chairperson delivered keynote address. College Principal, Dr. Philipose Omman presided over the function. Mr. Ajith Kumar (Municipal Councillor), Mr. M. Christopher (CEO, Chris global foundation Thiruvalla), Dr. Binoy T. Thomas, Dr. Thomas V. P., Mr. Gokul G. Nair were felicitated in the function.
