INSTALLATION OF QR CODE LABELS ON TREES OF THE RING ROAD AND COLLEGE CAMPUS
As part of the environment day observance, Nomenclature club and the department of Botany installed QR code labels on trees of the ring road and college campus on 05/06,2021. The event was in association with Pathanamthitta Municipality and Chris global foundation, Thiruvalla. Municipal chairman Sri. Zakir Hussain inaugurated the programme.
PLANTING OF FRUIT TREE SAPLINGS IN THE CAMPUS OF ANGANWADIS
The nomenclature club and the Department of Botany Catholicate College, Pathanmthitta associated with Pathanamthitta Municipality, Haritha kerala mission, District suchitwa mission and Chris global foundation, Thiruvalla for “Arivinoppam aarogyam project”. Fruit tree saplings are planted in the campus of all Anganwadis of the Municipality.
‘HARITHA PUNARJANI’
As a part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, the Nomenclature club and the Department of Botany initiated a project namely ‘Haritha punarjani’ in collaboration with Kerala forest department, Kottackal Arya vaidyasala, Kerala Forest Research Institute Peechi, Govt. Ayurveda College Thiruvananthapuram, National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow, Pathanamthitta Municipality and Chris global foundation Thiruvalla. It aims to plant rare trees and fruit trees in ring roadside. The project will help promote the students and public to understand about the rare and exotic plants. Sri. Vinod Kumar, Co-ordinator of Suchithwa Kerala Mission inaugurated the project by planting a “Puthrajiva” tree sapling on 05/06/2021 in the ring road side
