NCC at College
National Cadet Corps is the youth organisation functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. Its objective is to develop disciplined, responsible and patriotic youth through intensive training in defence preparedness and community service. The Central and State governments grant incentives for NCC cadets including weightage for education, job reservation etc. Catholicate College NCC Coy No.1 has 108 cadets under14 (K)Bn NCC Pathanamthitta, commanded by Capt. Jijo K. Joseph, Department of Physical Education. The students who enroll in NCC can attain 'B' and 'C' certificates after a service of two and three years respectively. Our NCC cadet, Nissy Varghese of III B.Com Finance and Taxation is selected to participate in the Youth Exchange Programme in Singapore.
