EXCELLENCE OBSERVANCE DAY Catholicate College the pioneer institution of the Malankara Orthodox Church was founded in 1952. The college owes its existence to the innate vision of Late lamented H.H. Baselios Geevarghese II Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Church and H.G. Puthenkavil Geevarghese Mar Philoxenos then Metropolitan of the Diocese of Thumpamon. The college was inaugurated by the then Maharaja of Travancore Sri. Chithira Thirunal in August 1952. The committed and selfless enthusiasm of the people of the church greatly contributed towards the establishment of this great institution of higher education at Pathanamthitta. The college has been instrumental in instilling enthusiasm, erudition and excellence for the past 67 years. The institution which belongs to the hilly region of Kerala caters to the educational needs of a vast area. The Primary objective of the college is to provide an academic and social environment in which mature students can flourish. The motto of the college is “The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom’’, and the vision of the college is “to create an educated and enlightened society for a brave new world”. With adoration we remember the role of Late lamented H.G. Daniel Mar Philoxenos Metropolitan, the first Principal who lead the college with spiritual enthusiasm and committed virtuousness. Late lamented H.G. Philipose Mar Eusebius Metropolitan who followed served us all with the philosophic vision of a historian. Catholicate College flourished at Makkamkunnu Basil Hills because of the prayerful guidance and leadership of men of eminence like Rev. Fr. Thengumtharayil Geevarghese Cor-Episcopa, Sri. E.John Philipose, Sri. T.G Abraham Thellireth, Sri. C.K Therakath and a van of other lay leaders. H. H. Baselios Marthoma Paulose II Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan and our Educational Agency, H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasios Metropolitan, M.O.C Manager and H.G. Kuriakose Mar Clemis Metropolitan, local manager whose guidance and motivation propel the college in its journey towards excellence. In the third phase of (NAAC) re-accreditation, the college has been reaccredited by National Assessment and accreditation council (NAAC) in A+ grade with CGPA grade of 3.60 thereby the college is ranked as one of the top graded colleges in Kerala. The roots of Education are bitter,but the fruit is sweet.-Aristotle. The Catholicate College fraternity feels legitimately proud and happy in recognising and appreciating the 50 Rankholders(35 in PG Level and 15 in UG Level) in Mahatma Gandhi University Examinations 2019 who have brought honour,credit and credentials to the institution.The meeting to felicitate the awardees was held today at The College Auditorium. യു.ജി.സിയുടെ നാക് അക്ക്രഡിറ്റേഷനിൽ 3.60 ഗ്രേഡോടു കൂടി അക്ക്രഡിറ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനമാണ് കാതോലിക്കേറ്റ് കോളേജ്.അക്കാദമിക രംഗത്തെയും കലാകായിക രംഗത്തെയും കുട്ടികളുടെ മികവുകൾ ശ്രേഷ്ടമായി മാനിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതാണെന്നും പ്രത്യേകാൽ പെൺകുട്ടികളുടെ മികവുകളെ ശ്രേഷ്ടമായി കാണുന്നുവെന്നും യോഗം ഉത്ഘാടനം ചെയ്ത എം.ഓ.സി.മാനേജർ ഡോ തോമസ് മാർ അത്താനാസിയോസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. പത്തനംതിട്ടയിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഈ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനം അനേക പ്രതിഭകളെ ലോകത്തിനു സംഭാവന ചെയ്തു. ഈ റാങ്കുകാർ പ്രതിഭാശാലികളായി മാറട്ടെ എന്നും അധ്യക്ഷ പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ അഭി.കുര്യാക്കോസ് മാർ ക്ളീമിസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത പറഞ്ഞു.തിരുവല്ല സബ് കളക്ടർ ഡോ.വിനയ് ഗോയൽ IAS ആഗ്രഹവും പരിശ്രമവും ഉള്ളവർക്ക് വിജയം സുനിശ്ചിതമാണെന്ന് മുഖ്യപ്രഭാഷണത്തിൽ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.കാതോലിക്കേറ്റ്കോളേജ് പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ ഡോ. മാത്യു പി ജോസഫ് പ്രതിഭകളെ അനുമോദിച്ചു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. റാങ്ക് ജേതാക്കൾക്ക് ഉപഹാരങ്ങൾ വിശിഷ്ടതിഥികൾ സമ്മാനിച്ചു.ഗവർണിങ് ബോർഡ് മെമ്പർമാരായ വെരി റവ. ജോൺസൻ കല്ലിട്ടതിൽ കോർഎപ്പിസ്കോപ്പ,കെ.വി.ജേക്കബ്,കെ.ഐ.ജോർജ്,അലുംനി അസോസിയേഷൻ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ്,സമുവേൽ കിഴക്കുപുറം,ഡോ.മിനി ജോർജ് ,ഡോ പി എസ്.പ്രതീപ്,ഡോ.അനു.പി.ടി, ഓഫീസ് സൂപ്രണ്ട് രാജൻ വര്ഗീസ്,ജെനി മേരി മാത്യു,ആഘോഷ് വി സുരേഷ്,അലൻ എന്നിവർ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
