Catholicate College Botany Alumni meet was conducted on Zoom Online platform between 5 and 7.30 PM on 02/10/2021, with the active participation of around 100 former students and former and present teachers from around the globe. The meeting was presided over by the Principal Dr Philipose Omman and graced by the presence of College resident Manager and former Professor H.G Kuriakose Mar Clemis Metropolitan. Mr Rajendrakumar IAS , of Bengal cadre himself an alumni, was the chief guest. Head of the department Dr Binoy T Thomas welcomed the gathering and all the former Teachers spoke and shared their experiences.
Among the former Professors who spoke were Prof. K.C Kurian , Dr Aleyamma Simon, Prof Saramma Jacob, Dr. George Koshy, Prof. K Mariamma (USA), Dr Raju Jacob (USA), Prof . VT Thomas, Prof. M. T Mathew, Prof Achamma Philip, Prof Baji Varghese, Prof. Raju Thomas and Prof. G Alexander.
Prominent among the former students, who shared their feelings were, Dr. Mathew Dan, Dr ME Kuriakose, Dr Hareesh (USA), Dr Sheeba Joseph, Dr Jassy Thomas, Dr Seema Devi R, Dr. Sreerenjini S, Dr Bindu Joseph (Delhi) Geena Babu (chennai), and others.
The general body meeting decided to conduct Alumni Meet on October 2nd of every year. Office bearers elected by the general body include Dr. George Koshy (Patron), Head of the Department Dr Binoy T Thomas (President), Dr. Deepthi A S (Secretary) and Dr Seema Devi R (Joint-Secretary). Ms Hima K S anchored the programme and Dr. Deepthi A S Proposed vote of thanks.
