Integrated MA Programme in Languages - English
Integrated MA Programme in Languages – English is a new generation course which has been designed to strengthen the understanding and broaden the horizon of the students with respect to literatures across the world and also to develop a knowledge base that cuts across disciplines.
The five year Integrated MA programme in English integrates BA and MA English courses in a single frame with a more advanced futuristic curriculum which is designed to facilitate comprehensive grasp of English Language and Literature. It offers the twin benefits of mastering an advanced Masters degree that would develop multiple competencies and that too immediately after school relieving parents and students of the stress of securing admission for MA after conventional BA degree courses. The syllabus, which is different from that of conventional courses, gives a comprehensive knowledge on World Literature, and helps the students to qualify in competitive exams like UGC NET and GATE. The introduction to different world perspectives through literature also aid students preparing for the Civil Service Examination.
Non-conventional core courses including Film Studies, Writing for Media, Studies and Creative Writing empower the students to build their careers in Journalism and various corporate sectors. The complimentary course on Philosophy provides a strong base in critical thinking and theories, which is essential for research programmes. English for Communication enhances the students' skill in professional communication to become best competitors in the corporate world.
Course Duration - The MA English (Integrated) Programme shall be of a duration of five academic years comprising of ten semesters.

Certificate Course in Communication Skills -
The Department offers a Certificate course in Communicative Skills titled 'Unlocking English Mastery : Certificate in Language Excellence'. Students of Graduate and Postgraduate (English) programme will be eligible for admission.
From the academic year 2024-25 onwards , BA Honours Programme in English with specialization in Film Studies & Cultural Studies commenced in the department.This programme opened up new vistas of learning with more student friendly approach.
