   Department of Mathematics

The department started its journey in 1955 and climb its academic steps by starting PG course in 1984. The department is an approved Research Centre from 2010 by MG Universityand has been identified by UGC for PG grant and FIST. The department intends to educate students in the growing world of advanced mathematics and prepare them for careers in its use and development. Currently, the department consists of 7 faculties. Our faculty research interests include various research fields in mathematics mainly Algebra, Algebraic Graph Theory, Chemical Graph Theory, Fuzzy Mathematics, Stochastic Process, Distribution Theory, Time series analysis etc. The faculty members of the department have published 126 papers in National and International Journal and have completed one major and five minor research projects. The department has a well-equipped Computer lab and library. Department organizes various National and International Seminars and observed various days of national importance such as National Mathematics Day, National Science Day, Ramanujan Day and Pi Day every year. Add-on certificate course on Statistical Computing and Data Analytics is also being conducted every year.Currently there are three research guides in Mathematics and one in Statistics. The faculty aims to conduct nationally and internationally strong basic research.
